About Our Program

We are Melbourne spoodle breeders, excited to announce the commencement of our foster program for our breeding girls, this gives our dogs the opportunity to live with in a family environment and experience the commitment and loving care from a forever family. Like a guardian program we are available to support you and our girl throughout her breeding years and beyond. We will only consider families who live in Melbourne to be part of our program.

Our foster girls we consider to be the best of our puppies, they have an excellent temperament, they offer a wonderful experience to their new families. We only place our dogs with families who have their best interests at heart and are committed to providing a loving nurturing home. We believe a foster program offers our breading dogs the best possible life and an opportunity for families to care for and enjoy a lifetime with them.

Foster girls are required to return to us to breed and then again to whelp (give birth). The length of stay for whelping is around 9 weeks, 2 to 3 weeks prior to whelping and 6 to 7 weeks after pups are born (or until her puppies are weaned and we're sure her milk has dried up). Foster families are welcome to visit and spend time with them while they are with us with the exception of the first 4 weeks when their immunity is low. Our girls are required to return twice a year for ten days during their heat cycle. We provide the option to leave their dog with us when they are away or on holidays.

Our Families

What are the costs involved for a foster family?

We offer our dogs free of charge to approved families from 8 weeks of age, however we do require a bond of $1000 which we refund at the end of the program. At the end of their breeding life we desex your dog and return her to live out her days with you. Generally this is between 4 and 6 years of age.

You will provide training, food, grooming, and all the usual daily expenses of owning a dog.

Requirements of fostering homes

Secure fenced yard
Agree to feed quality dog food of our choice
No entire (not spayed or neutered) dog to be living in care home
Puppy school
Maintain care and grooming
Provide vet care when required (unrelated to breeding)
Final puppy vaccinations
Keep regular contact and provide heat cycle updates
Return foster girl to us when required
Reside in Melbourne

How do I foster a puppy?

We require families who wish to foster a dog to apply with our online form.

Once approved we will enter into an agreement based on our foster program which is outlined here. We provide all the support and information our families will need.
